Former Green Beret identified as driver in Tesla Cybertruck explosion

The explosion was caused by a vehicle packed with fireworks, gas canisters, and camping fuel, leading to the driver’s death and minor injuries to seven others.

The blast occurred in the hotel’s valet area but caused minimal damage to the building due to the truck’s steel construction.

Livelsberger, from Colorado Springs, served in the US Army’s special forces, with deployments to Afghanistan, Ukraine, and other regions.

He received two Bronze Stars, one for valor.

Investigators believe he shot himself before the detonation.

However, Clark County Sheriff Kevin McMahill noted that the explosive setup did not demonstrate the level of sophistication typically associated with Livelsberger’s military background.

Law enforcement is examining potential connections to another truck attack in New Orleans on the same day, but no definitive link has been established.

The FBI is investigating Livelsberger’s background, including reported marital issues prior to the attack.

His travel route was traced using Tesla’s charging station data, with Tesla CEO Elon Musk helping unlock the vehicle and providing surveillance footage.

“It’s a Tesla truck. And we know that Elon Musk is working with President-Elect Trump. And it’s the Trump Tower. So there’s obviously things to be concerned about there.”
