At least 76 people have been killed following a fire at the Kartalkaya ski resort in Türkiye’s Bolu mountains.
51 people were reportedly injured, with fire crews present on scene approximately 45 minutes after the first call.
Authorities reported that the fire began around 3:30am, local time, on the restaurant floor.
Four people have been detained in relation to the fire, including the owner of the hotel.

“As part of an investigation led by six prosecutors, four people including the hotel owner were detained,” Justice Minister Yilmaz Tunc confirmed.
A hotel guest told Turkish broadcaster NTV that people were seen jumping from windows to escape the blaze, as other guests demanded pillows to be placed on the ground in preparation.
“When the fire got close they jumped right away,” he said.
It was confirmed by Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya that 238 guests were staying at the hotel at the time of the blaze.
No Australians were believed to have been affected and an investigation is underway.
