Last Saturday a group of people sat down for lunch in Leongatha Victoria. Days later three of them are dead and a fourth is in a serious condition in hospital.
Police are continuing their investigations as they suspect they were victims of mushroom poisoning. While we do not know for sure why the victims ingested what authorities believe to be deadly death cap mushrooms, it’s certainly not the only story involving these deadly types of mushrooms.
So, how prevalent are deadly mushrooms? What should we look out for? What happens when you’re poisoned? And how often are people hospitalised after consuming mushrooms.
