On Friday morning, Rogerson’s life support was turned off, and he died on Sunday night around 11pm.

Rogerson was serving a life sentence for murdering 20-year-old student and drug dealer, Jamie Gao in 2014.

He and former corrupt cop Glen McNamara were found to have lured Gao into a Padstow storage unit before shooting him twice.

The pair had planned to sell Gao’s methamphetamine, worth $18 million, however just days after his murder, his body washed up onshore.

Rogerson began his police career in 1958, at just 17-years-old.

He was regarded as one of the most decorated New South Wales office, with many considering him a potential candidate for police commissioner before corruption allegation and links to organised crimes were discovered.
