Bali Authorities Establish Task Force To Crackdown On Misbehaving Tourists

Bali authorities have established a taskforce to hand out fines and deportation cards to tourists behaving badly.

The new Bali Becik Task Force can be alerted to troublemaking tourists via hotline where people can report bad behaviour.

The introduction of the taskforce follows a request from the immigration director general Silmy Karim.

Stay up-to-date on the latest news with The National Briefing – keeping you in the loop with the nation’s breaking news as it hits.

While addressing the media, Karim said that the aim of the taskforce is to lower the number of crimes committed by tourists.

“We hope that with the formation of the Bali Becik Task Force, the level of violations of laws and norms by foreigners in Bali will decrease,” Karim said.

“The main problem regarding foreigners in Bali is the large number of foreign tourists with low spending who often make trouble,” he said.

“Because Bali is included in the category of cheap tourist destinations, so it attracts thin-pocketed tourists.”

Residents of the island are being asked by police to contact the hotline to report any foreign visitors breaking the law.
