An Australia bound flight has been forced to turn back to Singapore with a fighter jet escort following a bomb threat.
Scoot budget airline flight TR16 departed from Singapore’s Changi Airport at 4:10PM local time on route to Perth, Australia.
Approximately 40 minutes into the journey, a man allegedly made a bomb threat.
The plane is believed to have circled several times near Singapore before heading back to Singapore airport.
The plane landed at around 6:30PM local time before a number of security personnel boarded the plane.
Police escorted two people off the plane with a 30-year-old Australian man arrested for criminal intimidation.
The incident caused one runway to be closed down, impacting incoming flights.
