Anthony Albanese Slams Elon Musk Over Church Stabbing Footage: ‘Arrogant Billionaire’

Tech billionaire Elon Musk has labeled a Federal Court order to hide footage of last week’s Sydney church stabbing “censorship.”

It comes as Australia’s e-Safety Commissioner won an injunction in the Federal Court late last night ordering Musk’s platform, X, to immediately hide videos showing the moment Bishop Mar Mari Emmanuel was attacked during a sermon in Wakeley last Monday.

Musk and his social media site continue to refuse to remove the clip and comply with the order.

In a post to X, Musk wrote: “I’d like to take a moment to thank the PM for informing the public that this platform is the only truthful one.”

Anthony Albanese has this morning weighed in, calling Elon Musk an “arrogant billionaire… who thinks he’s above the law.”

“I think our position is very clear, and Mr Musk has made his position clear,” the PM told Sky News Australia.

“We have sent a clear message across the board – politicians in Australia, across the political spectrum, are backing the eSafety Commissioner, and they’re backing the eSafety Commissioner because she’s acting in the interest of common sense.”

The injunction will last two days.
