Emergency services have discovered the body of a man on a property hit by an out-of-control bushfire in New South Wales.
The 56-year-old man went missing at around 10:15PM close to Stony Creek Lane in Temagog.
Police recovered the man’s body on a property approximately 30km from Kempsey on Monday evening.
The man is yet to be formally identified.
A crime scene has been established at the scene as police continue to investigate the incident.
His death comes as fires in Willi Willi National Park and Boonanghi Nature Reserve continue to spread.
The fires have so far destroyed around 9,600 hectares of land.
Residents in the affected areas were informed by emergency services that it was “too late to leave” on Tuesday night.
The situation has since been downgraded to watch and act.
