Dannii Minogue Has Confirmed A 30 Year Pop Urban Myth Involving Her Sister Kylie

by Cameron Adams

Dannii revealed she does indeed make a fleeting appearance dancing in Kylie’s video for What Do I Have To Do in 1991.

At the time Dannii was launching her music career in the UK but the British press were determined to push a false narrative of a rivalry between the sisters. However in the era before social media, there was no way to get the truth out to shut the rumours down.

“I was in London at the time Kylie made the video for this track so keep an eye out for my little cameo,” Dannii says as part of the Pop Princess episode of her LiSTNR series The 90s

“It was kind of our way of showing our fans beyond what the press were writing about us, that we loved each other and were very comfortable supporting each other careers. Remember this was the 90s, pre social media!”

Dannii also praised the way her sister has “continually evolved” her career.

“She’s silenced any critics by continuing to operate at the highest level 35 years later.”

The episode also features words and music from Britney Spears, Billie Piper, Christina Aguilera, Mandy Moore and Melissa Tkautz. Listen to the full episode now:
