As the end of Year 12 approaches for thousands of students across the country, it can be a stressful time for families.
Christine Cawsey AM, Principal of Rooty Hill High School in Western Sydney, talks to Luke Darcy about why we need to re-evaluate our approach and start speaking with teenagers about purpose, not just an ATAR score.
“It’s more than a mark, it’s more than an ATAR score. It’s around the skills and capabilities they can bring to the table. But it’s also about their capacity to be contributing citizens, to be self-regulated in situations, to manage the challenges they face.”
She also shares her tips for how parents can best support their kids during this time.
