Jack Whitehall and his father Michael have famously travelled the world together through their multiple documentary series.
And while the series undoubtedly brings the father son duo closer, it’s clear their personalities could not be more different from one another.
Michael Whitehall brings the very stern, stereotypical older British attitude that contrasts with Jack, the younger, charismatic and flamboyant son.
Think black cat and golden retriever.
Jack has recently become a father himself and in an interview with Jimmy and Nath, he reveals his parenting style is very different to his strict fathers.
“His approach to father hood was very different to mine,” Jack laughs.
“He was definitely a lot more hands off, there was a lot of nannies.”
Jack reveals his father was very hands off, akin to the role of a town mayor, visiting every now and then but otherwise being quite absent.
“It definitely led me to believe to position of a father was more of a ceremonial role,” Jack tells Jimmy and Nath.
“I was sent off to boarding school as soon as possible.”
But it’s clear Jack doesn’t harbour any resentment, especially now being a father himself.
“I used to complain so much but I totally understand it now,” Jack says.
Instead of adopting his father’s backseat parenting style, Jack has decided to be very hands on with his child, who has just recently turned one.
“I haven’t slept in weeks,” Jack laughs.
“I’m completely shagged out and just broken.”
