Penrith Panthers player Nathan Cleary and Matilda’s star Mary Fowler hit headlines when they were spotted together last year.

They soon began a whirlwind romance, capturing the attention of sports fans across the country.

But also, the media.

Nathan Cleary has been bombarded with questions over his and Mary’s relationship recently.

Particularly as the Panther’s player gets ready for the NRL grand final this weekend.

Nathan Cleary has revealed he feels sorry for his partner Mary as their relationship has been put under a microscope by the Australian media.

But former NRL player turned commentator, Braith Anasta reveals he feels sorry for Cleary during all of this attention.

“I sat with Nathan at a GQ dinner, mid-season,” Anasta tells Jimmy and Nath.

“What a human being he is.”

“It’s really difficult for him, when you’re a young guy, or girl, like Mary.”

“They’re in love and they just want to live out the relationship like everyone else but they can’t,” he says.

“I feel sorry for him, because he just wants to play footy and he just wants to be in love and enjoy that relationship.”

Braith Anasta says he can relate to Nathan as he too has had his private life over analysed by the media.

“I’ve been in a similar situation,” Braith tells Jimmy and Nath.
