Actor Samuel Johnson addresses his feud with music icon Molly Meldrum after gold Logie speech fiasco.
When Samuel Johnson won the gold Logie for portraying Molly Meldrum in the TV series ‘Molly‘, he hoped the moment would commemorate a massive achievement in his life.
But instead, Molly Meldrum went up on the stage uninvited and completely eclipsed Samuel’s acceptance speech with long, nonsensical ramblings.

“Yeah I told him not to come up, I asked him not to,” Samuel tells Hughesy, Ed and Erin.
Molly had asked Samuel prior to his speech if he could join and even though Samuel refused, Molly didn’t take no for an answer.
“I told him it was my moment, not his.”
Molly Meldrum then took over the microphone during Samuels’s acceptance speech, much to the shock of the entire Logie’s audience.
“I was looking down at the front table…and they all had their jaws on the floor,” Samuel Johnson tells Hughesy, Ed and Erin.
“It was eight minutes of pure terror.”
The moment Molly took the away the spotlight from Samuel has remained a catalyst in why the actor has not spoken or seen Molly Meldrum since.
Samuel explains to Hughesy, Ed and Erin that he doesn’t hold a grudge towards Molly anymore, he just wants to stay as far away from him as possible.
“It’s not that I hold a grudge,” Samuel explains.
“I’ve just moved on.”
Even though Samuel and Molly have had a tumultuous relationship and are no longer on speaking terms, the actor says he is grateful to the music icon.
“He’s done a lot for me, for my family, for my charity, for everything,”
“I’m really grateful for him.”
“I just can’t walk into the future with him.”
