Speaking to Hughesy, Ed and Erin, Jonathan T. Gilliam, a career professional with over twenty years of service explains the critical security failings at the hands of the Secret Service.
“I cannot figure it out for the life of me…how was this able to happen?”
“There’s a perimeter that’s set by the Secret Service. It shouldn’t have been able to happen.”
The former Navy Seal explains that the area Donald Trump’s rally was being held at should have been vetted inch by inch by trained and seasoned security.
Jonathan T. Gilliam says the rooftop the shooter was on, was the only place in the entire vicinity that someone could get onto an elevated surface and have a clear shot at the former President of the United States.
Whether this was an unbelievable oversight in security measures or the complete failing of an entire ‘elite’ security team, Gilliam struggles to understand how the only vantage point was seemingly not priority.
“The rooftop is the only place in the vicinity of the stage that Trump was at that somebody could get onto an elevated surface and shoot and have a clear shot at Trump.”
It has been revealed that multiple witnesses saw the shooter climb the only elevated building in what has been described as a large field, commonly used as a fair ground.
“We noticed a guy bear crawling up the building, 50 feet away from us,” the witness says.
Incredibly, the witness claims he even made the Secret Service aware of the shooter by catching their attention and pointing at the shooter for over two minutes.
“We’re pointing at the guy for two or three minutes, Secret Service is looking at us.”
“I couldn’t believe Trump was still speaking and they hadn’t taken him off stage.”
Gilliam, who has served as a Navy SEAL, FBI Special Agent, Federal Air Marshal, private security contractor and police officer questions the training and capabilities of the Secret Service.
The photos of the former President with blood dripping down his face, holding his fist in the air have captivated the entire world.
But from the perspective of a security expert, the former World leader should have never been given that opportunity, especially after an attempted hit on his life.
“As the protector, you don’t let the individual that just been shot to have a photo opportunity,” the former FBI Special Agent tells Hughesy, Ed and Erin.
