Meet Clint.
Clint is a film-maker and a son. He is also HIV Positive.
HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) is a virus that attacks the body’s immune system, weakening it, and can make you prone to getting sick if left untreated.
Unfortunately, there is no cure for HIV infection.
However, with access to effective HIV prevention, diagnosis, treatment and care, including for opportunistic infections, HIV infection has become a manageable chronic health condition, enabling people living with HIV to lead long and healthy lives.
“It’s really important as you get older to try and open peoples minds up to a different perspectives,” he said.
When asked if he had anything against the person who he contracted it from, his reply was honest, raw and eye opening.
“Yes I do know who gave it to me; it’s me,” he stated.
“No one forced me to do anything; I could have used protection, I could have made different choices but I didn’t and I can rectify that for myself,”
“What I don’t want to do is put someone else’s face on it and blame and walk away feeling like someone else did this to me.”
Now, a spokesperson for the Queensland Positive People, Clint is 100% positive that this virus will not stop him and shouldn’t affect the way he’s treated in society.
