It’s probably safe to say that most comedians have had a sh*tty time on stage at one point or another, but Urzila takes the sh*tty experience to a whole new level.
So apparently, Urzila visited Christchurch, New Zealand just after the big earthquakes and popped into a local university for a gig.
While telling risky jokes is a part of the territory, Urzila had apparently just dropped a Nelson Mandela joke before she saw a bunch of people get up and walk out.
“I talk about Nelson Mandela about 40 minutes in and then I say, you know, if Nelson Mandela lived in America today, he would probably be on death row as a terrorist, you know, being just being held because one man’s terrorist is another man’s freedom fighter, you know,” Urzila said.
“So, I sort of talk about that and I see about 40 people get up and leave in the back of the room.”
Naturally, Urzila was a little unnerved by this and ended up confronting venue staff after the show to find out why everybody decided to bail on the show mid-set.
Turns out, it wasn’t Urzila’s jokes that were sh*t but something else definitely was.
