Aussie actor Ben Lawson opened up on his experience on the hit Netflix show Firefly Lane, and the hilarious attempt to teach his American his co-stars footy.
Originally from Brisbane, Lawson plays TV producer Johnny Ryan alongside Katherine Heigl (Tully Hart) and Sarah Chalke (Kate Mularkey).
He managed to don the Queensland State of Origin jersey in the first series and the North Queensland Cowboys heritage jersey in the second series, sneaking some iconic Aussie heritage into the show!
After sharing a hilarious clip to his Instagram, Lawson told Brisbane’s Stav, Abby and Matt how he tried to teach Heigl and Chalke the famous ‘Queenslander‘ war cry and the “Carn The Cowboys” chant.
Confused by the crazy twang, the girls were bewildered by the so-called NRL lingo they were being taught.
“You should feel my pain!” he joked.
“They had no idea what I was bringing in,”
“I kept bringing things in through the back door, and they were like hmmm, are you sure this is okay? They had no idea about the importance of it, but they never said no!”
Lawson has starred in a variety of TV shows and films, known for his roles as Frazer in Neighbours and Damian in Designated Survivor before landing the part of Johnny.
