There are plenty of haunting murder stories out there but how many inspiring, terrifying, jaw-dropping survival stories have you heard? We have gone ahead and collected four survival stories that are all of those things and are bound to have you sitting on the edge of your seat.

“Underworld Bride – Part 1: When Dad Left”

In this two-part Crime Insiders episode, Adam Shand takes a deep dive into the life of Kellie Carter Bell, a woman who survived more than two decades worth of abuse at the hands of some of Melbourne underworld’s most dangerous men. 

Suffering through a rough upbringing and the loss of her two sisters, Kellie soon found herself entangled in the dark world of drugs, corruption and murder. 

Kellie shares her incredible story with Adam Shand, detailing the traumatic events that lead to her dark past.  

Crime Junkies: Survived – Jaycee Dugard

Jaycee Dugard was 11 years old when she was abducted on her way to school in 1991. Her family and the police would continue searching for her until a chance encounter 18 years later. 

Two campus police officers were called to the University of California in Berkeley after a staff member reported that a man was behaving erratically, while a woman and her two daughters appeared “sullen and submissive”. 

After the woman and her children were transported to a nearby police station, officers would discover that the woman was missing girl, Jaycee Dugard.

When a woman discovers that her boyfriend might be behind the shooting death of a talented, college football player she grapples with how to report the information to authorities. 

The woman would become the key to opening up the investigation but in the process, was afraid she may lose her life. 

Morbid: The unbelievable survival tale of Juliane Koepcke

The jaw-dropping story of Juliane Koepcke is one that will forever go down in history as one of the most incredible survival stories ever heard. 

Juliane Koepcke became the sole survivor of a plane crash in 1971, leaving her stranded in the middle of the Amazon Rainforest. 

Juliane would be forced to survive in the wilderness, evading hundreds of predators for 11 days until she was finally found and rescued.
