Socceroos veteran Jackson Irvine told The Howie Games podcast about moving to the other side of the world after signing his first professional contract as a 16 year-old.
“We want to offer you two years in the youth academy… So that mean you’ll obviously move here as soon as possible,” Irvine said.

“I was training two nights a week with a local team in Melbourne, then all of the sudden, you’re full time professional,” Irvine said.
“I actually finished high school via correspondence. So I was studying while going full time (professional).”
“I had to sit my exams in real time. My VCE exams, I sat them in the middle of the night, Scotland time.”
