The Saudi backed ‘Rugby 360’ competition is looming as a potential threat to the NRL, with huge money on the table for their top targets.
“It’s the LIV golf of Rugby basically, they’re trying to break away.” said Michael Chammas on Triple M’s Saturday Scrum.
“They’re talking that the top players will earn $2 million a year US dollars.”
“It’s going to leave us vulnerable if players can earn that sort of money.”
Roger Tuivasa-Sheck is reportedly to be close to agreeing to terms, with a salary of over $1 million per season rumoured to be on the table, roughly twice the amount of his current deal at the Warriors.
